Skills Based Program

Dates: June 28, 2010 - July 30, 2010   (no school Monday July 5)

Hours: 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Tuition: $2,500

Age Range:  6-12

Give Your Child an Academic Boost   Small classes focus on addressing each child’s most pressing educational needs, in order to maintain academic progress.  In this non-graded academic program, students are grouped by ability with respect to age. Every day, each student receives a combination of five academic classes, including:

Tutorial:  This class, which meets twice daily, is the core of the Academic Program.  Individual reading, comprehension and language skills as well as targeted study skills are areas of focus.

Mathematics:  Computation and practical application skills are emphasized, using a variety of manipulatives and materials.

Handwriting / Writing:  Emphasis is placed upon developing and enhancing written expression skills through lessons and activities in penmanship, mechanics and creative writing.

Literature: The literature class is designed to foster an appreciation and broaden an understanding of literature, using high-interest literary works and various discussion-based activities.
