Giving and Support

Annual Fund

The Annual Fund raises unrestricted funds between September 1 and August 31 that help the school purchase items from computers to athletic uniforms and equipment which are needed to support the quality education offered at Eagle Hill. The fund also contributes to the staff enrichment financial aid funds.

Capital Campaign
Eagle Hill-Southport is in the midst of a Capital Campaign to build the endowment in order to address the following critical needs:

  • Increase financial aid endowment to students
  • Bolster faculty professional development endowment
  • Maintain our historic building

Pledges to the Capital Campaign are usually more significant than gifts to the Annual Fund and can be paid over several years.

Special Events

Each fall the school holds its Soaring Eagles Golf Classic. Proceeds from that event go toward financial aid endowment. The spring benefit is a coordinated effort between the parents, trustees, and staff. The benefit directly supports the staff enrichment, building and scholarship funds as well as needs not supported by the Annual Fund.

Planned Giving
In 2007, Eagle Hill launched the Heritage Society to recognize those individuals who have made plans to remember the school in their estate plans. A bequest may be allocated for the general operations of the school or for a specific need such as staff enrichment, financial aid, and building improvements. Other planned giving options include charitable remainder trusts, life insurance policies, IRA's, real estate, works of art, and other personal property. These gifts provide ways to maximize personal, financial and tax benefits to the donor and at the same time provide the school with a valued gift.

Naming Opportunities
Several naming opportunities exist at Eagle Hill. Donors who give at a certain level can establish named endowed funds, the proceeds of which benefit specific programs at the school. These funds, which remain in perpetuity, are listed each year in the Annual Report. Leadership donors may also be recognized on a plaque at school. In recent years plaques have been placed outside classrooms, in the Common Room, and at other locales on campus.

The Headmaster or the Director of Development would be pleased to discuss a donor's giving objectives and the options available in greater detail.
