Math Skills Workshops A & B

Math Skills Workshop A: July 2-July 13, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Math Skills Workshop B: July 16-July 27 , 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Age range: 12-14

Tuition: Workshop A: $540.00; Workshop B: $600.00

As the goals of high math become broader, students are required to cover more material in less time. As a result, some students are forced to move forward in the curriculum without developing a solid foundation of math skills.

This intensive two-week course is designed to provide maintenance and remediation in advanced computation and pre-algebra concepts. Strategies are provided to help students problem solve, communicate, and reason mathematically.

During this workshop, each student will…

• develop a deeper understanding of the language of math

• explore various number concepts to enhance math accuracy and literacy

• apply step-by-step processes to increase proficiency in math computation

• acquire multiple strategies to approach and break down story problems and math applications
